Eco-Point is an unique company which develops products to replace dangerous chemicals. For the marine sector, they have VOC free and low VOC replacements for degreasing in the yacht paint sector where it is still normal to use lots of conventional solvents to degrease the yachts before painting and also to use thinners for cleaning equipement (paint gun, filling knife). Eco-Point has developed a safe and biodegradable alternatives for these applications: Ecoatex as paint remover and also a biodegradable degreaser named Surfax.

The two mentioned products are biobased, so they have only safe ingredients. The results regarding degreasing versus thinner are investigated by means of a ASTM D2587 method and products of Eco-Point gave improved results compared to thinners or other solvents like aceton.
