Nieland has the solution to produce double curved hull panels without using acetylene-oxygen or natural gas-oxygen. The cold forming technology is based on bending and stretching panels whereas the old line heating method uses lots of gas to heat panels red hot with simultaneous cooling down with water in order to shrink certain areas.

Nieland’s cold forming technology saves lots of CO2 Emissions because cold forming is not using gas-oxygen mixtures at all. apart from the lack of CO2 emissions, the labour conditions with cold forming improve substantial because the operator has a much better working position.
